As I do a lot of night driving encounter periods of fog I decided to give the Mazda dealer a call to price some fog lights for my new Mazda 3. To my shock he quoted me $1200-plus for parts and then two hours labour on top of that. I find this to be totally outrageous, and needless to say I won't be buying them. What are your thoughts on the rip-off manufacturers can charge?
Carmakers charge what they believe the market will stand, so walking away when the price appears extraordinarily high, as you believe it is, hopefully sends them a message. Find an independent Mazda specialist, one who sources his or her own parts, and you should be able to have it done much more cheaply.
