My 2014 FG X XR6 auto will not drive straight, it pulls to the left on all roads. I told the dealer about it at the first service and although they realigned it I found it still steered to the left. I then got it aligned at my cost at a tyre retailer. It was then a little better, but not right, and the tyre place told me that to have it aligned true and centre would require a shim kit to be fitted because there was no more adjustment left. I went back to Ford with this information and they sent the car out for an alignment, but came back and said it was "within spec". I wasn't happy, as it was still pulling left. When I contacted Ford again I was told that as it was within Ford's spec I would have to foot the bill to have a shim kit installed. I'm very unhappy about it; the car has pulled left since I got it. I feel they should fix it.
You're in a bind and there's no easy way out. If you want to pursue it with Ford have it checked by an independent engineer registered with the RTA and have him produce a report you can take to Ford. But I would suggest instead of presenting it directly yourself enlist the help of a solicitor to write to Ford about your case and enclose the report with it.
