I recently purchased a used 2004 Volkswagen Golf Sport manual with 138,800 km on the clock. When I took it for a registration check, my mechanic pointed out some 'gearbox chatter' and suggested I take it back to the dealer for a solution. The clutch was replaced at 136,200 km. Will this gearbox chatter turn into something worse and more expensive if I don't get it fixed now?
Possibly not, but you should have your mechanic diagnose the cause of the problem to know for sure.
