Daily driver with stop-start

Due to my daily drive to work I am considering buying a car that has the I-stop feature. There are many stops and starts over the 70 km drive, which takes an hour plus. If my trip has me idle for 15 to 30 minutes with 50-plus stop-starts, is the technology worth it with the wear and tear of the constant stop and start mechanical components? I'm thinking a hybrid might be better, what are you thoughts?

Clearly the battery, the starter and the associated components have to work a lot harder with a car with the stop-start function, but you have to believe that the carmakers with the system have upgraded the components to cope with it. If they didn't the component would most likely fail quite quickly. I have sufficient confidence in carmakers to believe they have developed components that are capable to doing the job
