    Can you modify the computer in a '09 Renault Koleos?

    I have a 2009 Renault Koleos, which over the last three years has regularly gone into limp mode due to a fault "check ESP". This can be quite dangerous, as it once happened on a very busy Sydney freeway. I have been to a Renault dealer twice and my local mechanic with no successful resolution to this problem. Have you heard of any way of getting computers modified so that they don't put the passengers in danger over an exhaust problem?

    No. While it’s annoying and potentially damaging there’s no quick fix for your problem. It’s clearly an intermittent one, and they are the most difficult for mechanics to trace and fix. I suggest you talk to the dealer, and also Renault’s technical support people, to make sure they understand your concerns and are actively trying to fix it.
