    Best mid-size SUV for towing

    Nissan Nissan Advice Nissan X-TRAIL Nissan X-TRAIL Advice Nissan X-TRAIL 2016

    Some time in the next 12 months I am going to be looking for a mid-sized SUV that can tow 2000kg. It can be either petrol or diesel, but I am having trouble finding one with a manual transmission which I vastly prefer to auto. One other thing that would be a pre-requisite is a spare tyre, preferably full sized. Do you have any suggestions for me?

    There are few choices in the medium SUV market when it comes to a manual gearbox, and even fewer options when you add in your towing needs of 2000kg. Most medium SUVs have automatic transmissions; the few that offer a manual mostly don't meet your need to tow 2000kg. The only one that meets both your requirements is the Nissan X-Trail, which has a 6-speed manual option and is rated to tow 2000kg. It has a space saver spare.
