Range Rover Evoque a stunner

The three-door luxury SUV not only gives Land Rover a solid entry into the burgeoning compact SUV category, but goes a long way to offset the big thirst - and volumous CO2 output - of its bigger models.
Land Rover Australia managing director Chris Popham says Evoque aims at a low 130g/km CO2 and an average of 4.9 litres/100km, thanks to a lightweight body and efficient engine.
It will come in all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive.
But the Evoque won’t be built until mid-2011 (in England) and demand already is so strong that Australia will be drip fed for the first few months.
A five-door version will be announced later this year.
Land Rover sales are up 33 per cent over 2009 and the marque has recorded its best-ever September - all highlights of its 40th anniversary.
