Price pump-up! Porsche Australia increases prices by as much as $38,900 for almost the entire line-up including Macan and Cayenne SUVs

Porsche Australia has lobbed a significant price adjustment for 2023, increasing prices for some variants by almost 10 per cent, and most by more than five per cent.

Two models managed to escape the price increase, one being the Panamera executive sedan and the other the recently-updated Cayenne large SUV, which Porsche recently confirmed the updated pricing for.

Aside from the Cayenne, there are no changes to the Porsche line-up, aside from the Macan medium SUV gaining autonomous emergency braking (AEB) as standard, finally including it on the base and Macan T models.

The Macan now starts from $95,300 before on-roads for the base model, a relatively modest increase of $6000 when considering the other price adjustments in the Porsche stable for cars with no changes.

Porsche's newest model for example, the Taycan electric car, now starts from $165,700 for the base model RWD, up $7,600 over its old price.

But it's the 718 Boxster and Cayman that are, in many variants, most affected. In terms of the price increase margin, their base models and many in the line-ups have been increase by almost 10 per cent.

A base manual Boxster now starts from $136,600, a huge $11,800 more than before, with a base Cayman convertible from $134,000, up $12,000.

The halo Cayman model, the GT4 RS, is now $336,800, an increase of $24,900 for the 368kW, 4.0-litre flat-six engined sports car.

Porsche has also nixed the limited-edition Spyder model from its Boxster line-up, and the non-RS GT4 from the Cayman range.

It's the 718 Boxster and Cayman that are, in many variants, most affected.

Porsche’s most iconic model, the 911 coupe, now starts from $279,300, which is $20,200 more than before. The 911 range also includes the model which has had its price increased by the largest figure, the top-spec GT3 RS now a $539,100 offering, having had its price bumped up from the roughly-half-million mark by $38,900.

A Porsche spokesperson told CarsGuide the pricing adjustment is standard practice upon the change of model years, but that no major changes had been made to most cars, aside from AEB becoming standard for the Macan and the update for Cayenne.

"In its pricing for products and services, Porsche always endeavours to offer our customers the most competitive vehicles," they said.

The Macan now starts from ,300 before on-roads for the base model, a relatively modest increase of 00 when considering the other price adjustments in the Porsche stable for cars with no changes.

"Apart from Cayenne which underwent a thorough upgrade, as all our models are extremely well positioned in the marketplace the remainder of the range remained largely unchanged apart from the addition of Autonomous Emergency Braking for the entry level Macan and Macan T.

"The demand is extremely high, and we are currently working through a very strong backlog of orders to support our customer requirements."
