Ken Block's Gymkhana Files trailer drops

Ken Block's behind-the-scenes Gymkhana series scores a new trailer

The first trailer for Ken Block's new Amazon series The Gymkhana Files has hit the internet, with the human smoke machine offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at the making of his epic videos.

Ken Block, of course, is the wheelman behind the 10-strong gymkhana viral video series; a tyre-smoking celebration of all things sideways that began in 2008 in a Subaru WRX, and has since seen him behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta, a Ford Focus and a ballistic 1044kW, twin-turbo V8-powered "Hoonicorn" 1965 Ford Mustang in a series of increasingly crazy clips.

But what we've never seen in any of those polished releases is exactly what happens when it all goes wrong. And that's exactly where The Gymkhana Files steps in, offering a rare and candid look at the making of those tyre-frying videos.

"In a sport like this you don't learn the limits unless you push the limits," Block says, moments after footage of him finding the limit appears on screen.

"Is it time for me to quit? Can I handle this?" He asks in another segment. "If it doesn't break the internet, then we've failed."

The Gymkhana Files will air on Amazon's Prime streaming service from November 16.

Is Ken Block still the king of car carnage? Or is it time to put the series to sleep? Tell us in the comments below.
