2014 Ford Focus update | new car sales price

2014 Ford Focus Sport

Ford boosts standard equipment across the Focus range with no price change.

Ford has updated its Focus lineup to compete with newer competition in the highly competitive small car segment.

Priced from $20,290, the entry level Focus Ambiente gains rear parking sensors and the Emergency Assistance feature added to the SYNC multimedia interface system.

Emergency Assistance automatically delivers a message to 000 emergency operators in the event of an accident, and is already standard in the Fiesta ST, Ford Kuga and EcoSport SUVs.

Along with being standard on all new Focus variants, the feature is set to spread across other Ford nameplates.

The $22,290 Trend model now comes as standard with dual-zone climate control and Ford's Convenience Pack over the entry Ambiente. The Convenience Pack includes rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, auto dimming rear view mirror and 'follow-me-home' lighting.

The Focus Sport remains priced from $25,890, but gains proximity keys and engine start/stop button over the outgoing model.

The update adds a power sunroof to the range-topping $32,990 Titanium on top of the already standard leather seats, 18-inch alloys and automated parking system.

Ford has also reduced the price of the Sports Executive Pack from $2,300-$1,200. The pack includes HID headlights, automated city braking and adaptive cruise control, and is only available with Titanium variants.

A five-speed manual comes standard across Ambiente, Trend and Sport models, while a six-speed dual-clutch PowerShift automatic is available for an additional $2,300. The Titanium model is fitted with the automatic gearbox as standard, while the Focus ST hot hatch is only offered in six-speed manual guise.

The updated Focus hatch and sedan range retains a five star ANCAP safety rating and includes capped price servicing for up to seven years or 135,000km.
