Pricing and specifications for the facelifted Fiesta ST hot hatch have been confirmed by Ford Australia ahead of its arrival in the first quarter of next year.
The Fiesta ST is now priced $1200 higher than before, at $33,490 plus on-road costs, but buyers are compensated for the extra spend with a harder-hitting version of its 1.5-litre EcoBoost turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine.
While peak power remains at 147kW, maximum torque has risen by 30Nm, to 320Nm, to better challenge the rivalling Toyota GR Yaris (200kW/370Nm), Volkswagen Polo GTI (147kW/320Nm) and Hyundai i20 N (150kW/304Nm).
As before, a six-speed manual is the only transmission option, with drive sent to the front wheels via a mechanical limited-slip differential. Launch control also ensures quick acceleration off the line.
The facelift stands out from the Fiesta ST crowd with a new front fascia with Matrix LED headlights, while a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12-way power-adjustable Ford Performance front seats have been introduced inside.
Other standard equipment includes two-tone paintwork, dusk-sensing lights, rain-sensing wipers, a wireless smartphone charger and high-beam assist.
As reported, Ford Australia’s Fiesta range only consists of the ST model, with no ‘regular’ variants having been offered since the five-door’s current generation arrived in early 2020.
