Here’s what we thought and what you thought of the Frankfurt Motor Show's concept cars

Are you not entertained?

We thought we’d spend the past week or two posting up a few images of concept cars that were revealed for the Frankfurt Motor Show on our Facebook page.

We wanted to see what our community thinks of each of them and to do so used Facebook reaction-face-thingys combined with the comments as a super-accurate metric of your opinions.

We then did a quick office survey of what each of us thought of the concepts. For science!*

So, here’s what we thought and what you thought of the concept cars of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Kia Proceed Shooting Brake Concept

It's a thumbs up for Kia on this one. It's a thumbs up for Kia on this one.

What you thought:

We made one of you angry, but 29 of you loved it. Some division in the comments, too. Most of you want one, but we had the odd ‘No way’ also.

What we thought:

James Cleary - Absolutely superb looking thing. Stopped people in their tracks at the show.

Mitchell Tulk – Why isn’t it called the Stinger? Regardless, they need to build it!

Matt Hatton - Much better now they've dropped all the superfluous punctuation from the name. Oh the car? Yeah, it's alright I guess.

Richard Berry - It's nice but it will never happen.

James Lisle - Literally looks like Eeyore on a class A narcotic.

Matt Pritchard - Super sleek and cool. I have no idea exactly what it is (sedan? wagon? hatchback? Frankenstein's Monster-esque blend of all three?), but I like it.

Mini Cooper JCW GP Concept

Thumbs up from you guys, divided in the office. Thumbs up from you guys, divided in the office.

What you thought:

You gave us 33 positive reactions. The comment section was mainly comprised of ‘Yes!’ You guys really want a fast Mini.

What we thought:

James Cleary - Looks the business. If it manages to outperform the last one (which was brilliant!) it'll be a keeper.

Mitchell Tulk - Look at that whacky spoiler. Is it functional? Who knows, but it looks cool.

Matt Hatton - Mini need to be stopped, and quickly. The front splitter? That rear wing? Solid no.

Richard Berry - Oh Mini, Stop it!

James Lisle - With all of those louvres, spoilers, and ducting it looks like a scaled-up RC car. It's awesome.

Matt Pritchard - Imposing and cool, despite having a face that looks like you touched it with cold hands.

Mercedes-AMG Project ONE Concept

Big thumbs up. JC isn't sold though... Big thumbs up. JC isn't sold though...

What you thought:

The 41 positive reactions seemingly make this one your favourite cars of the show. The general consensus from the comments: F1 tech for the road? Yes please.

What we thought:

James Cleary - A dog's breakfast. The squillionaires who ordered one sight-unseen must be pissed.

Mitchell Tulk - Looks cool and all but I would prefer the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

Matt Hatton - Why have Mercedes ripped off the McLaren F1 and turned it into a car that belongs in Gran Turismo?

Richard Berry - Benz is capable of more than this...

James Lisle - The first hypercar made for accountants and paperclip salesmen.

Matt Pritchard - Looks like a second-tier Decepticon whose action figure nobody bought.

Honda Urban EV Concept

Big thumbs up all-round for a small package. Now wait for it not to be made. Big thumbs up all-round for a small package. Now wait for it not to be made.

What you thought:

Overwhelmingly positive with 36 reactions. Common thoughts: ‘It’s a Clubman/Golf!’ – pretty accurate.  A fair bit of 'Hell yes’ in there, too.

What we thought:

James Cleary - Car of the show. Manages to look 'tuff' and cute at the same time.

Mitchell Tulk - Chunky but funky.

Matt Hatton -  I am genuinely disappointed. The only bit of this car that is going to make it into production is the name. The idea of using the grille to hurl insults at other drivers is highly appealing.

Richard Berry - I likey lots.

James Lisle - An electric Kei car that has Alpina wheels and styling cues from a first-gen Golf GTI. What's not to love?

Matt Pritchard - It's adorable! Futuristic and retro at the same time. Not to mention if it could talk it looks like it would sound like Rowan Atkinson and honestly, I'd be first in line for that.

BMW i Vision Dynamics Concept

It's a thumbs down Bimmer, sorry. It's a thumbs down Bimmer, sorry.

What you thought:

Three likes, and my favourite single comment: ‘Yuck’. Fair enough.

What we thought:

James Cleary - It's going to be lost in the sands of time just like every other ordinary concept car.

Mitchell Tulk - Can't wait to see this never make it to production.

Matt Hatton - "Let's make a car that looks like it's trying to give birth to another car" "Like that Audi RS3 ad?" "Yes, like that" "Excellent idea, Hans"

Richard Berry - Looks like the result of a one-night stand between a Jaguar XF and a Renault Fluence

James Lisle - Finally, BMW has recognised their customer base and made a car without indicators.

Matt Pritchard - Sleek and angry looking. Although the front grill (grill? grill replacement? Whatever it is) looks a little... uh... rodent-y?

Mercedes-Benz EQA Concept

Merc induces a snooze. Thumbs generally pointed down. Merc induces a snooze. Thumbs generally pointed down.

What you thought:

Well, not much really. Two likes? You guys were indifferent.

What we thought:

James Cleary - It's 200kW and all that, but because it's a 'closer to reality' type concept it comes off as a bit, meh.

Mitchell Tulk - Looks like a potato on wheels.

Matt Hatton - Please sign me up for the practical version of the F105 Luxury Motion, thank you.

Richard Berry - This is an i30, no?

James Lisle - Nobody cares, move on. Next.

Matt Pritchard - Can I copy your homework? - Tesla: yeah, just change it up a bit so it doesn't look obvious you copied. - Mercedes: okay
