While utes – not soot-spewing dual-cab 'pick-ups' – were once the speciality of Ford and Holden, some other manufacturers have created hay haulers, such as BMW with its one-off E92 M3 pick-up.

Now Mercedes has joined in on the fun by giving its SLS AMG supercar the same treatment… sort of.

This isn’t actually the work of the German brand, the person behind this creation is YouTuber The Sketch Monkey, who is well known for digitally redesigning cars, such as the Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Waving his virtual magic wand over the fire-breathing 6.2-litre V8 coupe, The Sketch Monkey has managed to create the world’s most versatile supercar, while also keeping the utterly important gull-wing doors.

If anyone has too much time and money on their hands and could turn this rendering into a reality, you would be making this bogan one happy man.

Following a passion shared by his father and grandfather, Mitchell’s love of cars really kicked off with his Godfather’s purchase of a new Mazda RX-8. Exposure to that car changed his world forever, leading to an RX-7 obsession. To feed his automotive addiction, Mitchell decided to become a motoring journalist and made his mark at several high-profile motoring publications before landing at CarsGuide. While he is a rotary loyalist, Mitchell also has a massive love for Aussie muscle cars, and dreams of one day getting behind the wheel of a Charger R/T E49 (if anyone will let him). His other passions include Queensland, and spending Saturdays with the boys.
