RECALL: Airbags in some Audi Q7 SUVs might not inflate properly

The MY19 4M-series Q7 has been caught up in a new recall.

Audi Australia has recalled five Q7 large SUVs over a potential issue with their curtain airbags.

Affecting MY19 4M-series examples, the recall involves curtain airbags that may not inflate sufficiently when triggered in an accident.

Specifically, the fastener securing an air duct component in the curtain airbag might detach, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.

Known impacted owners will be contacted by Audi Australia with instructions to arrange a free-of-charge inspection and repair of their vehicle at a preferred authorised service centre.

Those looking for further information can contact Audi Australia directly via 1800 502 834. Alternatively, they can reach out to their preferred dealership.

A full list of affected Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) can be found at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s ACCC Product Safety Australia website.

For reference, the MY20 Q7 is due in showrooms next month, with the mid-life facelift to usher in a tweaked exterior and an overhauled interior featuring Audi’s latest multimedia system.
