Audi SQ7 Interior

If there's one thing Audi knows really well... that's how to make interiors alluring – compelling, even – and the SQ7’s is no exception.

Big, roomy and beautifully presented, the German SUV is ideal for both families and people seeking a luxury status symbol.

Not surprisingly, Audi got the basics right. Heaps of space, great front seats, superb ventilation, copious amounts of storage and logically laid out controls.

Adding a sense of luxury is the wide centre console and a solid gear lever, while a rich look and textures, as well as the high quality fit and finishes, are right on-brand.

The 2020 facelift introduced broader screen choices, with this grade gaining a variation of the A8 flagship’s split-level centre console haptic touchscreens. The upper section is the touchscreen with a 10.1-inch display for (cracking) audio, as well as multimedia and camera views, while the lower one operates several of the SUV’s functions, including the climate control system.

Moving to the rear seat, again, there’s heaps of room, with a comfy bench that reclines and slides as required, the latter allowing for fairly easy access to the third-row chairs. Now, larger people can use them for short distances without too much hardship, but they’re really designed for smaller folk.

It might be from the middle of last decade, but the SQ7 continues to provide a quiet, refined and reassuringly expensive interior.

Audi SQ7 Seats

Supplied by Audi Sport, the sports front bucket seats offer just the right amount of comfort and bracing support. They're electrically operated, have a heating mechanism and are adjustable in a variety of ways. The driver's side has a lumbar support feature too.

Moving to the middle row, the bench reclines and slides as required, the latter allowing for fairly easy access to the third-row chairs. They're comfortable and supportive if you're sat in the outboard positions, but the middle centre perch is hard and narrow.

Slide and fold the middle row seat offers easy access to the twin rear seats, that fold into the floor easily and conveniently. Larger people can use them for short distances without too much hardship, but they’re really designed for smaller folk.

All outboard occupants in the Audi's seats have side/thorax airbag and curtain airbag protection.
