In the automotive world, people are constantly coming up with new and ridiculous things to do to their cars.

At the forefront of all this silliness is Hoonigan, which once put wooden tyres on a Ford F-250 and performed burnouts with them.

The plywood wheels are back and this time, Hoonigan is seeing if it can withstand a precision driving course.

Consisting of accelerating, braking, drifting and donut zones, the test vehicle was an AWD Audi 200 wearing wooden tyres held together by a handful of bolts.

Sounds perfectly safe, right?

What car would you fit wooden wheels to? Let us know in the comments.

Exposure to that car changed his world forever, leading to an RX-7 obsession. To feed his automotive addiction, Mitchell decided to become a motoring journalist and made his mark at several high-profile motoring publications before landing at CarsGuide. While he is a rotary loyalist, Mitchell also has a massive love for Aussie muscle cars, and dreams of one day getting behind the wheel of a Charger R/T E49 (if anyone will let him). His other passions include Queensland, and spending Saturdays with the boys.
