Owning a Range Rover is a dream for many, but one few can afford. However, a bloke from India has achieved his dream at the quarter of the price.

Under the skin of this "Range Rover Evoque" is the Indian version of the Suzuki Vitara known as the Brezza, which is visually different (inside and out) from the Aussie model and uses another powerpant.

In India, the Brezza costs about A$21,000 and the owner paid an additional A$11,605 to have a Kerala-based customiser convert it into a mini Rangie.

From the outside you would be hard pressed to tell this is a Suzuki thanks to the aftermarket bodywork.

Okay, so it’s considerably smaller than an Evoque and the rims appear to have been nicked from a Volkswagen Scirocco, but it’s almost identical... if you squint.

The interior has been given a sporty red and black colour scheme, while any hints that it’s a Suzuki have been covered up, such as the badge on the steering wheel.

Power comes from a whopping 1.3-litre four-cylinder diesel, producing a head-spinning 66kW/200Nm, which is connected to a five-speed manual.

We can’t help but think of the Indian Pimp My Ride whenever we look at this car.

Is this a great or stupid idea? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Following a passion shared by his father and grandfather, Mitchell’s love of cars really kicked off with his Godfather’s purchase of a new Mazda RX-8. Exposure to that car changed his world forever, leading to an RX-7 obsession. To feed his automotive addiction, Mitchell decided to become a motoring journalist and made his mark at several high-profile motoring publications before landing at CarsGuide. While he is a rotary loyalist, Mitchell also has a massive love for Aussie muscle cars, and dreams of one day getting behind the wheel of a Charger R/T E49 (if anyone will let him). His other passions include Queensland, and spending Saturdays with the boys.
