2022 Mazda CX-30 price and features: Hyundai Kona, Toyota C-HR, Kia Seltos and Mitsubishi ASX rival ups expense ahead of update next year

All versions of the CX-30 are more expensive than before, some jumping up $400 in price.

Mazda Australia’s CX-30 small SUV has increased in price by as much as $400 due to the changes in currency conversion, lifting the point of entry to $29,190 before on-road costs.

The brand has confirmed there are no changes to specification to the model year 2021 CX-30s, but there is an update arriving next year with equipment and engine changes.

Opening the range is the G20 Pure front-wheel drive (FWD), which has risen $200 to $29,190 for the six-speed manual (the only grade available with three pedals) and $30,190 for the six-speed automatic.

The G20 Evolve FWD is also up $200 to $31,790.

The rest of the CX-30 line-up jumps $400, with the G20 Touring FWD, G25 Touring FWD, G20 Astina FWD, G25 Astina FWD, G25 Astina AWD and X20 Astina AWD now priced at $35,590, $37,090, $39,090, $39,590, $42,090, $44,090 and $47,090 respectively.

While prices have gone up, equipment levels have carried over, meaning the base car comes fitted with auto-folding mirrors, a 7.0-inch driver display, 16-inch wheels, electronic park brake and push-button start.

Handling multimedia duties is an 8.8-inch screen with satellite navigation, digital radio and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility.

For safety, all CX-30s come with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring and traffic-sign recognition.

Stepping up the Evolve adds 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The Touring grade gains a leather interior, power-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, front parking sensors and auto-dipping side mirrors.

The top-spec Astina meanwhile, scores a surround-view monitor, front cross-traffic alert, 12-speaker Bose sound system and adaptive LED headlights.

All CX-30s powered by the 2.5-litre petrol engine also come with a sunroof.

The G20-badged CX-30s are powered by a 114kW/200Nm 2.0-litre petrol engine, while the G25 variants score a 139kW/252NM 2.5-litre powerplant.

The sole X20 grade is fitted to a 132kW/224Nm mild-hybrid 2.0-litre petrol engine.
