The Hyundai Palisade comes standard with eight seats, but the Highlander variant can be optioned with seven.

Hyundai has released full price and specification details for the long-awaited Palisade large SUV which will take its place as the flagship of the brand’s entire line-up.

The Palisade will sit above the smaller Santa Fe and be offered with seven or eight seats, in two grades with a choice of a front-wheel drive petrol or all-wheel drive diesel variants.

The most affordable entry point into the range is front-wheel drive petrol Palisade for $60,000 before on road costs, while the top-of-the-range petrol Highlander lists for $71,000.

The diesel versions start at $64,000 for the base grade Palisade, with the Highlander being $75,000.

Standard equipment on the entry Palisade includes leather appointed seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen media display, 12-speaker stereo, sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, proximity key, push button start and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Stepping up to the Highlander adds 20-inch alloy wheels, dual LED headlights, head-up display, Nappa leather seats, heated and ventilated front and second row seats, sunroof, heated steering wheel, auto tailgate and rear door blinds.

Nobody should go thirsty or chargeless either with seven USB ports and 16 cup holders on board, too.

Both grades come standard with eight seats, while the Highlander can be had with seven seats at no extra cost.

The Palisade is offered in six mica and metallic paint colours including the standard White Cream Mica, and premium Timeless Black, Steel Graphite, Sierra Burgundy and Rain Forest.

All Palisades come standard with an impressive array of advanced safety technology such as AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot warning, forward collision assist, lane keeping assistance, rear cross traffic collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control.

The two engines on offer are: a 3.8-litre V6 petrol making 217kW and 355Nm, and a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel producing 147kW and 440Nm. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jun Heo, said: “We’re pleased to introduce all-new Palisade large SUV as the flagship of the Hyundai range, featuring the perfect blend of smart technologies and luxury features.

“With seven or eight seats and advanced HTRAC AWD, all-new Palisade delivers a stylish, safe and comfortable SUV experience for the whole family, with superb capabilities on and off the road," he said.
