If only our grandmas had an original '66 Shelby GT350s!

An 80 year-old granny driving a Mustang? Incredible.(image credit: Mustang 360)

Margaret Allen isn’t your normal granny, driving some small modern hatchback around the suburbs.

Even into her 80s she wheels the street of Los Angeles in this 1966 Shelby GT350 Mustang that has been in her family since 1967, when her late husband Paul swapped their neighbour Carl a ‘65 Volkswagen Beetle and some cash, in what must be the deal of the century!

The GT350 was used as Paul’s daily driver, though one roadtrip to northern California in 1969 was enough to convince the Allens a GT350 isn’t a good touring machine for a family. The Mustang was resprayed in May 1981 and was parked up in 1990 due to its rising value.

Paul passed away in 2010 and Margaret pulled the car out in 2015 to have the GT350 recommissioned for road use by Mike Abssy of Schraders Speed and Style in Azusa, California.
