Flying man battles Corvette in the craziest race we've seen

By Iain KellyIain Kelly

So you’re a world-class racing driver with five wins at the Le Mans 24-Hour race to your name.

You’ve seen it and done it when it comes to cars... except racing a guy who has the ability to fly!

Oliver Gavin takes a 491kW (659hp), 6.2-litre Corvette Z06 for a 1948m race down the Klausen Pass in Switzerland, against Jokke Sommer.

Jokke is basically a bloke in a wingsuit, one of those squirrel look-alike jump suits that allows people to glide as they freefall off stupendously tall peaks.

While it’s basically an ad for the supercharged 6.2-litre American supercar, it's still a fascinating concept. We also like the nod to the Dodge Viper at 1:10, where the raucous ‘Vette scares a snake on the road.

What other muscle cars are worthy of an epic face-off? Tell us in the comments.
