The LS-U, the last call before you reach the top-spec LS-T, is available as an auto 4x2 crew cab ute ($44,100), a manual 4x4 space cab ute ($46,600), an auto 4x4 space cab ute ($48,700), a manual 4x4 crew cab ute ($48,800), or an auto 4x4 crew cab ute ($50,900).
All 2018 D-Max variants have a 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine (130kW at 3600rpm and 430Nm from 2000-2200rpm) matched to a six-speed manual or auto.
Standard features on the LS-U grade include an 8.0-inch display with built in sat nav and reversing camera, projector lens headlights, LED running lights and tail lights, front fog lights, chrome radiator grille, lockable chrome tailgate, hill descent control, climate control, pollen air filter, power windows, keyless entry, leather steering wheel and carpet flooring.
Suspension is independent up front with coil springs and gas shocks, and a ‘comfort’ leaf spring set-up (three spans instead of five) at the rear.
Braked towing capacity is 3500kg and clearance is 225mm.
