Nissan Australia has confirmed its Navara Pro-4X ute and flagship Pro-4X Warrior built in conjunction with Premcar is now more expensive to purchase.
Each variant has moved up $600 in price, meaning the Pro-4X with a six-speed manual is now $58,730 before on-road costs, while the seven-speed automatic version is $61,230.
As for the Pro-4X Warrior, the manual and automatic versions are now $68,090 and $70,590 respectively.
Justifying the $600 price rise however, is the standard inclusion of heated front seats, as well as an electronically adjustable driver’s seat.
Despite the increase in price, the Pro-4X Warrior still undercuts the Mazda BT-50 Thunder (from $68,190) and Toyota HiLux Rugged X ($70,750), while also being much more affordable than the incoming, new-generation $85,490 Ford Ranger Raptor.
Carryover equipment in the Navara Pro-4X includes dual-zone climate control, push-button start, a 7.0-inch driver display, power windows and an 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support.
As for safety, the Pro-4X comes with autonomous emergency braking, automatic headlights, blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Warrior meanwhile, adds a winch-compatible safari-style bulbar with light bar, red-coloured front bash plate, beefed up underbody protection, 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres, retuned and lifted suspension, tow bar, variant-specific decals, chunkier fender flares, and bespoke front seat headrests.
Both Pro-4X and Warrior variants are powered by a 2.3-litre twin-turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, sending 140kW/450Nm to all four wheels.
While the Pro-4X and Warrior move up in price, a Warrior version based on the Navara SL is due to launch later this year as a more affordable alternative for those wanting a rugged ute.
The Navara SL Warrior could be priced around $60,000 when it lands, and will likely include a tyre and suspension overhaul, as well as accessories such as a bulbar, wider fender flares and Warrior decals.
