HSV Colorado SportsCat R pricing and specs confirmed

Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) has released a limited-edition Colorado SportsCat variant, the R, which boasts a number of design and performance upgrades over the standard SportsCat dual-cab ute upon which it is based.

Strictly limited to just 100 units – 98 for Australia and two for New Zealand, the SportsCat R is priced at $65,990 plus on-road costs, and will go into production this month at HSV's Clayton South facility.

The R sits between the entry-level SportsCat ($60,790) and the SportsCat+ ($66,790), which can both be optioned with a six-speed automatic transmission for $2200.

However, the R is is only available with the self-shifter, and borrows much of its styling from the flagship SportsCat+.

For performance, the R gains a unique ESC and damper tune, a widened track and an increased ride height for better off-road stability.

An optional AP Racing brake package that consists of four-piston forged brake calipers with 362mm discs on the front wheels is available for an extra $1995.

On the outside, HSV has employed a bespoke 'Mineral Black' paint scheme, with a gloss-black grille and lower fascia, and gloss-black 18 x 10-inch six-spoke forged alloy wheels with Cooper Zeon LTZ Pro Sports All-terrain tyres.

The R is also distinguished by red highlights on its bonnet bulge, lower grille, sail plane, tonneau and doors.

On the inside, premium SV sports seats are featured, clad in 'Jasmine' leather and 'Windsor' suede, and branded floor mats are standard.

The red theme continues on the interior too, with twin-needle red stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, door trims and centre console.

For safety, the R is standard with seven airbags, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, trailer sway control, front and rear park assist and a rear-view camera.

However, the engine remains unchanged, still powered by the 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine which delivers 147kW of power and 500Nm of torque.
