My 2009 Nissan X-Trail has a starting problem. It won’t start when it’s too cold (two degrees or lower), and it won’t start again when it’s been running for 10 min or more (won’t start again for at least half hour or more). It will jump-start, won’t push start. It’s had two new batteries in the last year. It currently has a new, bigger battery than usual. It also won’t start with the air-con on. New starter motor, new drive belt, new glow plugs. It also starts to lose power when it’s been going for more than three hours, or if the outside weather is really hot (40 degrees or more) it starts to lose power after about and hour and a half of driving, especially through hills. It’s had about seven different mechanics look at it and three different auto electricians. No one can figure out what its problem is.
I doubt that it’s the battery or starter that’s causing your problem. I would suggest digging deeper into the engine itself, perhaps even check for a leaking head gasket.
