Holden Commodore 2011:

I have a 2011 Holden Commodore. The timing chain went when the car had done 80,000 km; they said this was rare but fixed it under warranty. Four years and 50,000 km later it has gone again. Is there any warranty on repairs, or is this common and can I expect it to go in another 50k. I bought the car from a Holden dealer and they have done the servicing. Can you give me advise on how to tackle this problem?

The Alloytec V6 was known to have problems with the timing chain. There is no warranty on repairs as such, and with four years having lapsed since the work was done any warranty that might have existed has long since passed. You could contact Holden’s customer service (1800 033 349) and lodge your concerns with them.
