Jeep Grand Cherokee 2013: Shifting gear clunk sound

I've read some stories where owners of the Grand Cherokee complained about a clunk sound in the gearbox. Do you know if they were referring more to the shifting of gears being hard? From new, my Jeep when stopping for a small period say after fuel stops, once taking off again it would always clunk or change hard through second to third. Just for the first change after takeoff, then it was fine. At the 12,000 km service they couldn't fault it, at the 24,000 km service they told me the oil level was low and that was the cause. They were correct, it did somewhat fix it, but I still get a clunk when you accelerate and if you back off coming to a stop it would still change up and clunk into a gear when I think it shouldn't. Sometimes even under normal driving/acceleration it would do the same. The Jeep's now done 50,000 km in 18 months and it's still there. Do you think it's the same issue others have complained about?

It's possible, but it's hard to say for sure. We've contacted Chrysler about another vehicle that's exhibiting the problem, and we're waiting for their reply. Hopefully we might be able to give some idea of the cause once we hear from them.
