I bought a 2006 VW Jetta with the 147TSi engine with 60,000km on it and immediately had the 60,000 km service done on it. It is now due for its 75,000 km service and in the 15,000 km since its last service it has used almost five litres of oil, which seems excessive. It has had the full logbook service before I owned it although not through VW. It is a great car to drive and apart from the oil consumption I'm very happy with it. Should I be worried about the engine's longevity?
It is a lot of oil that it’s using so I would definitely have it checked to determine the cause.
