Volkswagen Jetta Review, For Sale, Specs, Models & News in Australia

Volkswagen's Jetta sedan resides in a strange limbo between the brand's Golf hatch and the larger Passat, and its relatively soft sales reflect this positioning.

It didn't arrive here officially until 2005 in its fifth generation guise; the Mk3 version was sold as a Vento, and Mk4 as the Bora.

The sixth generation - each version marries up with the Golf's life cycles - launched locally in 2011, with the range receiving a makeover in 2015. This update saw the debut of a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, derived from the previous generation Golf GTI that made 155kW. The Jetta begins at POA for the Jetta 118 TSI Comfortline and ranges to POA for the Jetta 118 TSI Comfortline.

Volkswagen Jetta Q&As

Check out real-world situations relating to the Volkswagen Jetta here, particularly what our experts have to say about them.

  • Can a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta run on 95 octane or run on E10?

All Australian-delivered, fuel-injected Volkswagens built after 1986 can run successfully on E10 petrol. Most E10 petrol in Australia has an octane rating of 94RON, and that’s the lowest you’d want to go. Back in the day, VW said the Jetta was better off with 95RON ULP and was not able to use the standard 91RON stuff that many cars could/can use.
