The Aspire is the third variant in the Mitsubishi Outlander range, and serves as the top-spec seven-seat version, as the halo Exceed grade is only available in five-seat form.
The Aspire is available in front-wheel drive, priced at $47,790 or with all-wheel drive, priced at $50,290 before on-road costs.
On top of the base equipment available on the ES, which includes LED headlights, dual 12.3-inch screens for multimedia and the digital dash, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker Yamaha system among other items, the Aspire specifically adds 20-inch alloy wheels, black 'microsuede' seat trim with heating for the front two positions, power adjustment for the driver, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and a power tailgate.
It also scores the same active safety suite which includes auto emergency braking (front and rear), lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention alert, and traffic sign recognition, however, it also adds the missing equipment like lane keep assist, traffic jam assist and auto high-beams.
Boot capacity is 478 litres with the third row folded, or 163L with the third row upright, although third-row seating is tight for an adult.
All combustion Outlander grades are powered by the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (135kW/244Nm) mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Importantly for the 2025 update, all Outlander grades now score an Australian-developed ride and handling tune.
Fuel consumption is rated at 7.7L/100km for the front-wheel drive, or 8.1L/100km for the all-wheel drive. All combustion Outlanders can use 91RON petrol.
