I have a 2010 Subaru Forester. I was told my auto transmission was shot, AT TEMP, TRACTION and ABS warning lights are on. Had a second-hand Transmission installed, including the electronic black box, and the same three fault lamps come on after less than a kilometre after start up. When the fault lamps are not on, the gearshifts thump terribly, but when the lamps come on the gearshifts are smooth and normal. How is this possible? Mechanic says he cannot do any more and other mechanics I ask are bewildered as well. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Switching the transmission and ECU clearly hasn’t fixed the problem, so look at sensors in the system, the wiring harness, and connections. I would suggest you take it to a Subaru dealer or an auto transmission and have them check it for you.
