Great Wall X200 2012: Slow accelerator reaction

My 2012 Great Wall X200 has an intermittent accelerator problem. When moving off from standing still the accelerator can take up to eight seconds to respond.

If I put it in neutral the engine revs, if you then drop it in gear it will move away. It seems to happen on small inclines, but not steep hills. It seldom happens if you are moving in traffic, but if you come to a standstill it will happen.

It’s appears not to be selecting first gear. It could be a number of things in the transmission. It may be that it just needs servicing. Take it to an automatic transmission specialist.
