I REPLACED the front brake pads and rotors on my 2000 Astra CD at 53,000km, which seemed low. I've been advised the rear rotors need replacing at 63,500km. I have owned seven vehicles over 30 years with average life of 100,000km and never needed to replace one rotor. I don't think driving technique is the problem. Have you some advice?
IT SEEMS to be a fact of life that brake pads and discs wear more quickly than they once did. Think for a moment, though, about the fantastic braking performance we enjoy and where that comes from. Softer pads and discs are a part of the modern braking package, and you replace them more often. The distances you quote are normal.
