Ssangyong Tivoli 2019 pricing and specs confirmed

The first ever SsangYong Tivoli small SUV will arrive in Australia with sharp pricing and decent equipment when the Korean company relaunches locally in November 2018.

The entire SsangYong line-up will be offered with drive-away pricing, meaning customers won’t have to think about factoring in on-road costs when looking at the prices for the SsangYong range.

And the prices themselves are attractive on the new Tivoli small SUV, which is offered in three trim levels, with manual and automatic, petrol and diesel, 2WD and AWD models all part of the mix. It competes with the likes of the Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V, Subaru XV and Mitsubishi ASX.

The entry-level Tivoli EX starts at $23,490 for the 1.6-litre petrol front-wheel drive model with a six-speed manual transmission, or $25,490 for the same engine with a six-speed automatic.

The 1.6-litre petrol engine produces 94kW of power and 160Nm of torque, with claimed fuel consumption rated at 6.6 litres per 100 kilometres for the manual and 7.2L/100km for the automatic.

The mid-spec Tivoli ELX models are both six-speed automatics, and offered in front-wheel drive only. But this time has the choice of the same petrol engine at $27,490, or a 1.6-litre turbo diesel at $29,990.

The 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine has 85kW of power and 300Nm of torque, and claimed fuel use is rated at 5.5L/100km for the 2WD auto version and 5.9L/100km for the all-wheel drive automatic.

The Tivoli XLV is an extended version of the Tivoli small SUV.

The top-spec Ultimate model is solely offered with a turbo-diesel drivetrain with a six-speed auto transmission and AWD, and costs $33,990. You can get a two-tone paint look on this grade only, which tops the overall price up to $34,490.

Full detailed specifications are still to be determined, but SsangYong has confirmed every version in the model range will have a reversing camera, seven airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) and forward collision warning (FCW) as standard.

Every model will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with a 7.0-inch touchscreen media system. It is expected the two base grades will come with 16-inch alloy wheels, while the top-spec model will have 18s. Ultimate grade versions will also have leather seat trim, plus heated and cooled front seats.

Every SsangYong model will be sold with a strong seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty program, plus seven-year roadside assist cover, and a seven-year capped price servicing plan.
