Chevrolet Silverado 1500 not tough enough? Walkinshaw's Fury pack will add a little more ferocity to your Ram 1500-rivalling jumbo pick-up

No one said the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 needs even more of a presence on the road, except for Walkinshaw of course, who now offers the beefed-up Fury Pack for the full-sized pick-up.

Available in two configurations (dubbed 1 and 2), each Fury Pack will lift the already-imposing Silverado 1500 by two inches, and slap on unique decals and shadow-chrome badging.

The lifted dampers are designed and manufactured in Australia, and are built with off-roading in mind to improve “body control across all applications to compliment the truck’s ability, preventing unnecessary wallowing and rocking while pushing the limits on or off road”, according to Walkinshaw.

Both Fury Packs will also come with a stainless-steel cat-back exhaust system to increase the aural sensation of the 6.2-litre petrol V8, which punches out 313kW/624Nm to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

What differentiates the two packs however, is that the first option swaps out the standard 20-inch polished wheels for 18-inch Method rims wrapped in Goodyear all-terrain tyres, while the second pack scores 20-inch components.

Both sets of new wheels are finished in black, while the Fury Pack 2 also scores larger six-piston front brakes with 410mm rotors.

Pricing for each option pack was not revealed, but customers can send an enquiry through the Walkinshaw website.

For reference, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in the sole LTZ Premium Edition trim priced from $113,990 before on-road costs.

Standard equipment includes LED headlights, a powered tailgate, 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, 15.0-inch head-up display, 4.2-inch driver display, wireless smartphone charger, seven-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control and black leather interior.

Safety systems include autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera.

The 6.2-litre V8 powerplant also affords the Silverado 1500 a maximum 4500kg braked towing capacity.

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is imported and right-hand-drive converted by HSV, who have now been rechristened GMSV and will also sell the new mid-engined Corvette alongside the jumbo ute.
