Toyota Australia has increased pricing for its LandCruiser 300 Series 4WD and current-generation Camry sedan for the 2024 model year as of February.

The Toyota LandCrusier 300 now starts from $98,076 before on-road costs, a price increase of $3775 that’s consistent across the range, while the Toyota Camry now starts from $35,051.

The pricing changes don’t correlate with model updates for either car, instead being relatively standard price adjustments based on increased costs of doing business - in this case including “inflationary pressures”.

All variants of the The LandCruiser make use of a twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre diesel V6, which makes 227kW but a beefy 700Nm, paired with a 10-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The existing Camry, on the other hand, is available with a non-hybrid 2.5-litre petrol four-cylinder engine in its base variant Ascent where it makes 152kW and 243Nm, and now costs $35,051 before on-roads ($731 more than before).

The rest of the Camry range is hybridised, making 160kW from the same engine with electric assistance, starting from $37,917, an increase of $1097 that applies to every hybrid Camry all the way up to the top-spec SL ($51,417).

When confirming the pricing changes, a Toyota Australia spokesperson told CarsGuide that “Toyota is committed to keeping price increases to a minimum”.

“These changes are due to increased costs and inflationary pressures both locally and overseas.”

The Camry was once one of Australia’s favourite cars alongside the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon in the years before families chose SUVs for their transport, while off-roading 4x4s like the LandCruiser have made way for utes like the HiLux.

Last year, the Camry (10,581 sales) and LandCruiser 300 (15,035) made up just 11.9 per cent of Toyota’s sales total.
