Mazda BT-50 2014: Cold start stalling

Within 10 km of the first drive my 2014 Mazda BT-50 auto will stall when it slows down and stops. It starts again no dramas and this won't happen again for at least a week up to a few months. No fault codes show and mechanics have checked fuel lines for leaks but nothing is evident? Any ideas? Could it be a gearbox fault? Electrical? Or is air getting into fuel?

It won’t be a gearbox fault, and it won’t be air in the fuel. It’s happening on first starts, so look for something that’s amiss with it during the cold start phase. It’s probably not getting the required enrichment. Check the engine sensors.
