The Mazda CX-6e debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2025 under its Chinese-market name, EZ-60. Built by the Changan Mazda joint venture in Nanjing, it went on sale in China in September. Mazda engineers benchmarked the mid-size electric SUV against the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7.
The first-generation model has had no major update. It was previewed by the Arata concept at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show and rides on Changan's EPA1 platform, shared with the Deepal S07 and Mazda 6e sedan. China offers electric and range-extender versions. Europe and Australia receive the electric version only.
Mazda uses the EZ-60 name in China and CX-6e in export markets including Europe and Australia. Local pricing for the Mazda CX-6e starts at $53,990 before on-road costs for the GT, with the Azami at $56,990. That undercuts the Tesla Model Y by $4910. Deliveries started in September 2026.

The Mazda CX-6e GT opens the following as standard:
Stepping up to the Azami only really gets you bigger 21-inch alloys and digital wing mirrors.
The Mazda treatment has occurred in the cabin of the CX-6e, and the touchpoints are suitably plush, though it is entirely lacking in tactile buttons or switches. Pride of place instead is the massive screen, which is a whopping 26.4 inches and stretches pretty much the width of the cabin.
There’s a single motor at the rear axle of the Mazda CX-6e, making 190kW and 290Nm.

The Mazda CX-6e is a five-seat electric SUV with a tonne of space for backseat riders. It is longer but lower than the Mazda CX-5, but that won't impact headroom for most backseat passengers.
At the boot of the Mazda CX6e you'll find 363 litres of storage space measured to the parcel tray (so more if you stack to the ceiling), and a total 1434 litres should you fold the second row and load all the way to the ceiling. What you won't find, though, is a spare tyre.

Mazda doesn't quote an official zero to 100km/h time for the CX-6e, but we would estimate it at around eight seconds.
Delivering the range in the Mazda CX-6e is a 78kWh LFP battery, producing a WLTP driving range of up to 484kms. The DC charge rate is capped at 194kW, which should take you from 10-80 per cent charged in 24 mins. AC charging is up to 11kW, too.
