Like the Ambiente trim, the mid-level Ford Everest Trend is available in a choice of RWD and 4WD transmissions but comes with seven seats as standard. The Trend provides a happy medium in terms of pricing and extra features between the Ambiente and Titanium.

It brings larger 18-inch alloys with 265/60 R18 tyres and matching spare, power-lift tailgate, power side mirrors with power-fold/heating/puddle lamp functions, electrochromatic rear view mirror, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, auto high-beam control, halogen projection headlights and daytime running lights, satin chrome lower grille garnish, rear privacy glass and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

There’s also DAB+ digital radio and sat-nav with voice control and traffic message channel, plus extra safety features including front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with forward collision alert and lane-keeping system.

Interestingly, the RWD Trend, at $53,990, is the same price as the Ambiente 4WD seven seater, reflecting the boost in features and technology of the mid-grade rear driver. Logically, the highest priced Everest Trend is the 4WD version at $58,990.
