Car colours tells hue you are

Watch out for red coloured cars the driver may be fiery but if you bump into a pink car, the encounter could be fun.

Don't pick a fight with someone who drives a red car. They are most likely a fiery type, energetic and outgoing.

But if you bump bumpers with a pink car, the encounter with the driver could be flirtatious and fun.

Online women's automotive magazine shebuys.com.au says the colour of the car you drive can steer your personality.

Colour expert Rebecca Harkness said black and silver were the most desired shades on the bonnet to reflect personality but bright colours were becoming more popular.

Harkness, from NCS Colour Centre Australia, said black and silver represented hardworking, ambitious and stylish personalities.

As fashion is ever changing, so are the trends of car colours, Harkness said.

The next big thing in car colours would be metallic and special effects colours, Harkness predicted.

Drivers would be prepared to go the extra step to personalise their cars, she said.

Shebuys.com.au online editor Simone Giblin said certain colours sent a message about a car owner's personality.

With women having a hand in four out of five car purchases, colour and style didn't take a back seat, she said.

Yellow car drivers are sporty and spontaneous, while green car owners were easy-going.
