Safety in the mercs

Asked by George Anderson

MY SON, 18, is driving a 1982 230E Mercedes-Benz and my other son will soon take over my 1984 280SE. Are they safer in those cars or would they be better off in a more modern car with an airbag?

THOSE Mercedes had a body that gave good crash protection, but your sons would be safer in more modern cars with airbags.
