The Ford Falcon 2008 series III straight gas wagon I recently bought has been idling rough when stopped at the lights when in 'Drive'. My Ford dealer said the air intake was cracked and replaced it, but it still ran roughly and began to backfire when starting. I took it back a second time and they said it was the inlet manifold gasket and battery and changed both, but it wasn't fixed. I cannot afford to lose my car for another whole day because I need it for work 6 days a week. Any ideas?
Rough running and backfiring are common issues with LPG cars, particularly those running the old technology as your old Falcon is running. It's usually a problem with the ignition system, such as spark plugs or spark plug leads. I would replace them.
