2022 Audi e-Tron GT pricing and features: High performance electric Audi flagship takes fight to Tesla Model S Plaid and Porsche Taycan

Audi's sports luxury electric GT lands to challenge Tesla's Model S Plaid.

Audi Australia has confirmed pricing for its all-electric sport luxury grand turismo, the e-Tron GT, in standard and RS guise.

Priced from $171,900 before on-road costs for the GT, or $249,700 for the RS, the first deliveries of Australian examples are set for September.

Sharing its platform and technology with the Porsche Taycan, the e-Tron GT has an 93kWh battery with an 800-volt architecture, granting it 488km of range and charging at up to 270kW, one of the fastest charging rates of any EV on the market.

Audi says charging at the maximum 270kW will add 100km of driving range in just five minutes, or a five-to-80 per cent charge in 22.5 minutes.

Public charging is also achieved at up to 22kW, the fastest rate available on AC. Audi throws in a six-year Chargefox subscription for buyers.

Sporting dual electric motors producing 350kW/630Nm in GT form, or 440kW/830Nm for the RS, the e-Tron GT RS is the fastest production Audi ever built.

The rear motor is the more powerful of the two and is mated to a two-speed transmission, which can be completely disconnected when the car is cruising in eco mode to maximise efficiency.

The RS is priced at 9,700 before on-road costs.

The e-tron GT RS is actually more efficient than the standard version, consuming 22kWh/100km on the combined cycled, while the base e-Tron GT consumes 23.6kWh.

Standard equipment on the GT includes three-chamber air suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, ‘matrix’ dynamic LED headlights, leather seat trim with electronic adjust for front passengers, tri-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, 10.1-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless phone charging, Bang and Olufsen 16-speaker surround audio system, head-up display, and the brand’s full active safety suite.

Inside is a 10.1-inch multimedia touchscreen.

The e-Tron GT RS scores the aforementioned boost in performance, with the addition of four-wheel steering, tungsten brake package, 21-inch alloy wheels, napa leather interior trim with ventilated seats, an artificially generated soundscape, privacy glass, blacked-out exterior trim, and carbon inlays for the interior.

Audi says first deliveries of the e-Tron GT will start in September, but the car is on sale now.

The e-Tron GT RS wears 21-inch alloy wheels.

As with all Audi models, the e-Tron GT is covered by a new five-year and unlimited kilometre warranty as of 2022, six years of included servicing and roadside assist, as well as the aforementioned six-year Chargefox subscription.

The battery is covered by an eight-year and 160,000km warranty (and is said to be more easily repaired thanks to a modular design), while the bodywork is covered by a 12-year perforation promise.
