2021 Jaguar E-Pace pricing and specs detailed: Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA rival gets updated

Jaguar’s fresh-faced E-Pace will launch early next year with a higher level of standard equipment as well as a new mild-hybrid variant to top the range.

For 2021, Jaguar has consolidated its E-Pace line-up to just four petrol-powered variants: the R-Dynamic S P250 ($63,900 plus on-road costs), R-Dynamic SE P250 ($67,200), R-Dynamic HSE P250 ($71,300) and the all-new mild-hybrid 300 Sport ($79,600).

With the addition of the mild-hybrid system, the 300 Sport generates 221kW and 400Nm from its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the lower grades make do with 184kW/365Nm.

Jaguar says that the 300 Sport is capable of sprinting from zero-to-100km/h in 6.9 seconds, and is backed up by an active all-wheel-drive system, adaptive suspension and configurable driver modes.

Also distinguishing the 300 Sport is a number of exterior and interior touches, including 20-inch five-spoke wheels, a Meridian audio system, suede headlining and sport seats, among other features.

Distinguishing the top-spec E-Pace 300 Sport is 20-inch Satin Dark Grey alloy wheels.

Jaguar says that significant updates have been made to the E-Pace’s chassis for enhanced dynamics and comfort, while new front suspension components help to reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH).

Exterior styling changes see a more aggressive SUV stance with revised front and rear bumpers, a redesigned grille and a new LED lighting signature.

The new multimedia display is three times brighter and 48 per cent larger than the system in the current model.

While full LED lighting is standard, high-beam assist is added to all but the base R-Dynamic S variant.

Inside, the new E-Pace features an 11.4-inch curved-glass touchscreen with the brand’s Pivi Pro multimedia system that enables features like over-the-air updates, sat-nav, internet connectivity and smartphone mirroring as standard.

Alongside the new central display is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as well as a full colour TFT head-up display.

The rear of the new E-Pace features all-LED lighting and a tweaked bumper design.

Other notable interior updates include a newly designed shift selector, metallic trim pieces, a new steering wheel with metal paddles, and a cabin air ionisation system which filters the cabin air to improve occupant health.

Safety features now extend to a 3D surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear collision monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition and an adaptive speed limiter as standard.
