Volkswagen Australia has updated its 2023 Caddy line-up (including Cargo, Crewvan, People Mover and California body styles) with more safety equipment and in-cabin technology, but no change to pricing.
For the 2023 model year, the Cargo and Crewvan models score lane-keep assist that was already standard on the People Mover and California.
The lane assist tech works at speeds above 60km/h however, and will counter steer if the Caddy strays out of lane without an indicator activated.

The front assist systems on all 2023 Caddys have also been updated, and can now detect cyclists and pedestrians in addition to vehicles and objects, as well as oncoming traffic when turning at an intersection.
Volkswagen states the front assist technology is active between 5-85km/h, and makes use of a front-facing camera to detect potential hazards.
Each 2023 Caddy now comes with a wireless smartphone charger.
Model specific changes to the 2023 Caddy line-up include a new chrome trim for the sliding doors and tailgate of the People Mover, alongside a hinged opening side window for the twin side doors of the Crewvan, California and People Mover.
Volkswagen Australia has also stated options for the Discover Media satellite navigation and Park Assist remain unavailable to the Caddy Cargo due to the ongoing global semi-conductor shortage.
