Avis Budget Group has finally rolled out a more streamlined car rental check-in service with a new digital system that will get you into a car sooner.

According to the group, the online feature was “developed to meet changing consumer demands within the car rental industry”, though whether Avid Budget Group is referring to social distancing procedures brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic, or the fact that it is now 2020 and everyone hates standing in a line, is unclear.

The digital check-in portal can be accessed via the Avis Australia or Budget Australia websites, and allows customers to pre-fill details like their contact information and driver’s licence online.

This information can then be pulled up at the counter when collecting the rental vehicle, speeding up the checkout process.

The Avis Budget Group as also introduced higher levels of cleaning and disinfecting of its rental fleet to combat the spread of COVID-19.
