2023 LDV eDeliver 9 price and specs: Chinese automaker's popular big van goes zero-emissions

Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer, LDV, is making an EV splash with its new range of fully electric models. While the eT60 ute is grabbing headlines, the brand is also launching a fully electric version of its popular Deliver 9 large van.

The eDeliver 9 arrives in three variants, a long-wheelbase mid roof priced from $116,537 before on-road costs, a long-wheelbase high roof priced from $118,838, and a cab chassis priced from $99,990.

The vans are powered by the same 88.55kWh battery pack which underpins the eT60 ute, which in the case of the Deliver 9 offers 280km of range for the mid-roof amd 275km range in the high-roof version. Meanwhile, the cab chassis has a smaller battery, a 65kWh unit delivering 150km of range (based on a standard box system fitted to the frame), all to the WLTP measuring standard.

The eDeliver 9 also uses the same 150kW/310Nm electric motor as used in the eT60 ute, although it is mounted to the front axle instead of the rear. Interestingly, the eDeliver 9 has an electronically limited top speed of just 90km/h.

In terms of charging, the eDeliver 9 can charge at a rate of 80kW on a fast DC charger, allowing a charge time from 20 - 80 per cent in 45 minutes for the LWB versions, or 36 minutes in the cab chassis. It also offers a max speed of 11kW on a slower AC charger, allowing a charge time of nine hours for the LWB versions, or six hours for the cab chassis.

Consumption is rated at 33.9Kwh/100km for the mid-roof, or 34.5kWh/100km for the high roof.

LDV says the conversion to electric has had no impact on the interior space of the van, with the LWB mid roof offering 10.97 cubic metres of space, while the high-roof variant offers 12.33 cubic metres. Payload comes in at 1410kg for the mid-roof, or 1350kg for the high-roof grade. Braked towing capacity is rated for all variants at 1500kg.

Standard features include auto emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control, as well as a 10.1-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 2.4-inch LCD in the instrument cluster, and an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat. Practical additions include built-in under seat storage, a no-slip heavy-duty rubber floor lining, overhead storage compartments, and an LED-illuminated cargo area.

LDV offers the eDeliver 9 with a five-year/160,000km warranty for the van itself as well as a roadside assist plan of the same duration, with a separate eight-year 160,000km warranty for the battery. Service intervals are set at 24 months/30,000km whichever occurs first.
