2022 Genesis G70 Shooting Brake wagon forgoes V6 power: Price and features confirmed for new BMW 3 Series Touring, Audi A4 Avant and Volvo V60 rival

Genesis Australia has added a second body-style to the first-generation G70 mid-sizer, with the new Shooting Brake wagon joining the recently facelifted sedan in local showrooms.

Priced from $79,000 plus on-road costs, the Shooting Brake commands a $2000 premium over the similarly specified sedan with a 179kW/353Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine.

Yep, the Shooting Brake isn’t available with the sedan’s 274kW/510Nm 3.3-litre twin-turbo petrol V6, although it does share its eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and rear-wheel-drive layout.

Standard equipment in the Shooting Brake includes Matrix LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, Brembo brakes, keyless entry, a rear limited-slip differential and a hands-free power tailgate.

Inside, push-button start, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch multimedia system, satellite navigation (with live traffic), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, digital radio, a 15-speaker Lexicon sound system and a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster feature.

And then there's a wireless smartphone charger, dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel (with a power-adjustable column), power-adjustable front seats (with heating and cooling), heated rear seats, quilted Nappa leather upholstery and a suede headliner.
