My 1995 Ford Courier had a flat battery one day last week and I lost my radio. When power returned I entered the wrong code five or six times so now all I get is "ERR" constantly. I have since found the right code but can't get rid of the "ERR". I have disconnected it again for an hour or so but still can't get it back. It's part no is ford96DA-18B865-AA, model is a FCTO14A2-A, serial no is 9962833 has no brand name on it as far as I can remember. Any help or advice?

While driving, my 2011 Holden Cruze will shut down along with the steering. Once I put it back in park it starts straight away. Please advise.

I have a Holden Cascada 2015. I have had trouble with the DPF being blocked and was advised to use higher RPM in lower gears to make the engine work at a higher temperature. I cannot find any information on what approximately is the RPM for each gear other than the unsafe revs (6.5+) for turbo-diesel engine. What is a good speed to travel in for what gear?

My 2002 AWD TJ Mitsubishi Magna fogs up when the heater is turned on. My dealer says it's caused by a leaking heater tap. Was this model actually fitted with a heater tap?

Been having ignition problems with my Nissan Pulsar 2003. Took the car to the mechanic’s after the check engine light came on. If the car starts the first time it's great, but if it doesn't I don't bother trying after the first fail. Had all number of sensors changed and still have this problem. Mechanic has gone through car but can't find ignition fault.

The engine light in my 2006 Holden Captiva came on, so I went to my mechanic. He said it needs a new timing chain. I really don’t want to get a new car — is it worth getting it fixed and around how much should I expect it will cost?

I’ve driven my 2012 MY13 Kia Sportage Platinum comfortably for the last six years without any major issues until it recently started making a thumping noise with acceleration at low speed. The Kia service centre performed a diagnostic check and have told me there is a problem in the transfer case and it will cost ~$4500 to fix. I’m very disappointed such a major issue could arise in a vehicle that is only six years old with 87,000 km on it and regularly serviced. Is this a known/common problem? Or with AWD vehicles in general? I have emailed Kia but am yet to receive a response.

I have recently taken out a three-year warranty with National Warranty Company on a 2011 Nissan Navara ST-R (4X4) D 22 MYO8 dual-cab turbo-diesel manual. The servicing requirements under the warranty state the servicing must be performed as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. Given that the vehicle has 214,000 km on the clock and I would be hard pressed to undertake 1000 km within a 3-month period, how often would I have to service the vehicle so as to adhere to the warranty requirements? The warranty has allowed for 12 Service Advice Records to be completed by a "qualified repairer" every 3 months. Is this not excessive? If I fail to adhere to the manufacturer’s guidelines, I run the risk of falling foul of the warranty, thus rendering me incapable of any future claims. Can you advise me?

Is it okay to use water rather than coolant in a radiator?
