The interior of the Hyundai Staria depends on which one you’re sitting in. There’s the cargo-carrying version of this van called the Load and there’s the people mover. Then there are the individual grades of them, too.

The people mover version comes in two grades, the entry level just called Staria and the Lounge. The entry grade has a modern interior, but can feel quite basic and van-like with hard plastics and fabric seats but it becomes more premium, luxurious even, in the top-of-the-range Lounge. Keeping things modern on all grades, however, is a large central media display.

Obsidian Black cloth trims come standard on the Staria people mover entry grade. The Lounge has Nappa leather seats and suede headlining.

The Staria Load commercial van comes in an entry and Premium grade. Obsidian Black cloth trim is standard on the entry grade, while the Premium gains Obsidian Black leather upholstery.

The Hyundai Staria comes in four powertrain variants. There’s the 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel which makes 130kW and there’s the 3.5-litre V6 petrol which makes 200kW.

Then there’s the new hybrid variant which combines a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine and an electric motor making a combined 180kW.

The first fully electric Staria arrives soon with one electric motor making 160kW.

The Hyundai Staria is an eight-seater people mover, except for the top-spec Lounge which has seven seats upholstered in Nappa leather. The second-row seats are lounge-like and recline almost fully. 

The Staria Load commercial van is only available with two seats (the driver’s and co-pilot’s), whereas previously it was also variable with five seats.

The approximate range of the diesel Hyundai Staria with its 75-litre tank is about 1070km while the petrol variant has a range of about 714km.

The approximate range of the hybrid is 1100km, while the EV has up to 400km of driving range.

Please note that these are all these ranges are theoretical and real world conditions will likely see your ranges differ. Weight, weather and the kinds of roads and driving can dramatically affect range.

Standard features on the entry grade Hyundai Staria people mover include LED headlights and daytime running lights, 17-inch steel wheels, plus single-zone climate control in the front and single-zone climate control in the rear. There’s also wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. New for the update is a 12.3-inch digital media display, proximity unlocking, and push button start.

The top-of-the-range Staria Lounge has all of the entry grade's features and adds Nappa leather upholstery, power sliding doors, sunroof, door curtains, sat nav, metal pedals, privacy side windows, ambient lighting, satin chrome door handles, heated front and second-row seats and a 12.3-inch LCD driver instrument cluster.

Standard features on the entry grade Hyundai Staria Load van include all of the above (minus the rear climate control) but it also gets sat nav.

The Staria Load Premium comes with all of the entry grade’s features plus heated front seats, heated steering wheel and a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster.

The Hyundai Staria’s 0-100km/h time ranges from approximately 15 seconds in the diesel and petrol grades to about 10 seconds in the hybrid and electric variants.
